 Abstract:  This collection houses recordings of KAET-TV's local programs on 1", Betacam, VHS, and U-Matic tapes. Series I: Horizon is comprised of episodes of that program documenting issues of concern to Arizonans. Each episode is described in more detail in the container list. Series II: Arizona Memories and Series III: Books & Co. include copies of these programs dating from the 1990s. Series IV: Local Programming houses recordings documenting events and topics of local interest that were not created as part of a series, including activities and programs at ASU, the Teacher of the Year awards, the Arizona State Legislature's accomplishments, Native American artists, the 1987 Rose Bowl, Arizona Supreme Court Justice interviews, Evan Mecham's impeachment, and the Dalai Lama's visit to Arizona.

 Abstract:  The Stephen J. Pyne Papers contain materials from Arizona State University Regents Professor Emeritus Stephen J. Pyne, who began his academic career at the University Iowa before becoming one of the founding faculty members of ASU-West, and later moved to ASU's Department of History and the School of Life Sciences in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences on the Tempe campus. His groundbreaking research primarily focuses on global fire history, particularly in the US, Russia, Australia, Mexico, and Canada. It also contains correspondence and other papers related to his books, conferences, and grants, including the MacArthur Fellowship, the Fulbright Sweden, the National Humanities Center, Virginia G. Piper creative research fellowship, and the National Science Foundation. Also included are correspondence and drafts of short essays and interview transcripts for popular press publications and media appearances.
